Hootsuite opens platform to plug into CRMs

Social media managing platform, Hootsuite, has announced new open APIs for publishing, user management, and URL analytics.

By opening up access to the platform, we empower businesses to get more value out of Hootsuite and our best-of-breed partner ecosystem in order to provide meaningful customer experiences and interactions,” said Patience Yi, Vice President (Platform), Hootsuite.

The hree new open APIs include:

Publishing API

The publishing API connects the Hootsuite platform to other business content creation, content management, and CRM. This allows for robust and reliable publishing integrations.

User Management API

It enables automated management of Hootsuite user accounts with existing enterprise systems, including CRMs. This will allow businesses to easily automate the onboarding of new users as well as policy control from existing technologies, saving time and money.

Ow.ly API

The Ow.ly API allows customers to shorten web site URLs and consolidate reporting by automatically synchronizing click stats with dashboard and reporting systems.

Beyond the marketing realm

The company is looking to go beyond marketing and social media management. It last month acquired Sales Prodigy, a mobile app built to help sales organizations tap into social selling opportunities.

“Many organizations have invested in social marketing and social support, but there’s a big gap in the market for social selling solutions, and we want to address it.” said Matt Switzer, Vice President, Corporate Development, Hootsuite.
