Cloud-based software defined networking (SDN) company, Kollective, has closed a $12.25 million round, led by MK Capital, Pritzker Group Venture Capital, Cross Creek Capital and Hatteras Funds.

The enterprise targeting company intends to use the money to fund operations for its cloud-based solution “that utilizes the power of SDN to address enterprise content delivery problems for video, software updates and other large, complex files.”

In addition, the investment will be leveraged to augment Kollective’s already successful Microsoft Skype Meeting Broadcast partnership and fuel strategic growth including sales and R&D, as well as expand the company’s efforts in China, India, Hong Kong, Japan, Korea and Singapore to meet significant market and product demand.

Dan Vetras, CEO, Kollective, said:

“Our product suite is expanding to help customers with new IT challenges including the proliferation of video as a strategic imperative. We are witnessing an explosive growth in enterprise-scale customers who leverage video as a key form of communication to dispersed employees worldwide.”

Kollective claims to have experienced a 100 percent customer renewal rate for its industry-leading ECDN products in 2015. It also claims that it has deployed more than 500,000 endpoints in the last six months.

An official release from the enterprise SDN company noted that dramatic increases in video traffic and the ongoing challenge of delivering software updates has large enterprises looking to deploy an infrastructure that can address their needs. This includes partnering with a cloud-based, content delivery provider that can be leveraged in multiple use cases within the network.
