BearingPoint and GE Digital team up to bolster industrial IoT

BearingPoint that provides management and technology consultancy services globally has collaborated with GE Digital to aid companies develop new digital service offerings by making use of the Industrial Internet of Things (IoT) and Industry 4.0. The partnership will focus into the core areas of business that includes Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Customer Relationship Management (CRM). GE’s experience with industrial data and analytics will get combined with BearingPoint’s industry expertise in value chain processes.

The Industrial Internet transforms the way how people and machines interact by using data and analytics in new ways to drive efficiency gains, accelerate productivity and achieve overall operational excellence. According to GE, Industrial Internet unlocks new possibilities and drives transformation by connecting machines, advanced analytics and people at work. By getting equipment connected and having insights and evidence of when equipment maintenance is needed, one can optimize the maintenance schedule and cycle.

Apart from this, both companies will integrate with GE’s Predix, an operating system and platform for building applications that connect to industrial assets, collect and analyze data, and deliver real-time insights for optimizing industrial infrastructure and operations. This also provides software, apps and analytics that enable industrial businesses to operate faster, smarter and more efficiently.

In addition, prototypes that use IoT technology can be developed and complete solutions can be implemented.
