3 MIN READ

Following the launch of its first Enterprise Solution Partner Program, Huawei has now announced Video Cloud at the Huawei Connect 2016. Through its cloud platform and opening basic video capabilities, Huawei Video Cloud aims to help customers develop video services in the quickest manner and deliver supreme user experiences at a lower cost.

The global ICT solutions provider claims that Video Cloud will help customers to quickly bring video services online, reduce infrastructure cost by 90%, and ensure the best user experience and data security.

The company further added that the new service will support multiple video formats, including cloud live broadcast, cloud Video on Demand (VOD), cloud TV games, celebrity or games live broadcast, multi-screen interaction, remote health care, and online education. This, Huawei explains, will reduce the costs of on-premise video platform and content delivery network (CDN) infrastructure construction.

Hence, customers would be provided a quick commercial access to video services, promoting industry cooperation and advance the video ecosystem based on Huawei’s open video capabilities.

Business advantages of Huawei Video Cloud

Huawei claims that Video Cloud optimizes the total cost of ownership (TCO) investment for customers, reducing customer investments in video technologies so that the customers expend lesser resources and focus on core services, such as user, content, service, and operation. The construction and maintenance of the video platform will be conducted by the Video Cloud.

Also, Video Cloud claims to make risks controllable as it enables on-demand investments. This helps in reducing the startup capital for video service development by 90%. Furthermore, since the time consumed is lesser, it allows for rapid service rollout doing away with competition from Over-The-Top content (OTT) players with capital advantages.

Huawei has announced a series of partnerships at Connect 2016 revolving around its cloud strategy as well as its investments in IoT. Undoubtedly, the Chinese telecommunications firm sees a lot of abilities and opportunities in the cloud and is hence leveraging its existing technology to develop solutions to serve its global customers.
