Greenwave acquires Predixion software, aims to tap IoT & M2M

5 MIN READ

Internet-of-Things (IoT) software developer Greenwave Systems that helps users to design, build, deploy and manage connected devices and services, has announced the acquisition of Aliso Viejo-based Predixion Software, a developer of real-time visual edge analytics software for the IoT, for an undisclosed amount. However the terms and closing conditions of the deal are not clear as of yet.

The acquisition will reportedly enhance Greenwave’s AXON Platform with advanced visual analytics, enabling real-time data insights. The buyout will also bring Pedixion team and talent to the Greenwave board and ‘accelerate customer development in IoT, machine-to-machine (M2M), network management and media delivery for IPTV (Internet Protocol Television) and linear TV’. The move can easily be seen as a bet to bolster Greenwave’s IoT platform and its analytics capabilities.

Martin Manniche, Founder and CEO, Greenwave Systems, said, “We are thrilled to add Predixion Software to our team. With this acquisition we welcome some of the industry’s strongest data scientists, engineers and top talent to our company, including Simon Arkell, Predixion’s co-founder and CEO, who will assume the role of GM of Software Platforms for Analytics.”

Arkell also stated that joining the Greenwave team will extend Pedixion’s analytics technology to a remarkable range of managed networks.

“We can touch IoT, M2M, video and broadband networks and bring tremendous value to our current list of customers and partners, including Intel, Wind River, Accenture and GE. We are excited to join the team and we look forward to what we’ll accomplish together. Greenwave’s acquisition of Predixion will provide more financial horsepower to what Predixion has already developed and will enable us to accelerate growth and take the technology global,” he continued.

With the AXON product line, Irvine headquartered Greenwave Systems aims at enabling customers to create a safe, connected IoT network by translating communications from a wide variety of IoT devices into the standard IP-based language, to create a managed service. The software suite is again classified into AXON IoT for interoperability and IoT networks; AXON Media for Better TV Streaming solutions; AXON Mobile for connecting IoT devices to cellular networks and AXON Networking for provisioning in-home IoT networks.

In conjunction, Predixion’s flagship product RIOT—an analytics engine for the IoT—will be integrated to Greenwave’s AXON platform. RIOT, claims Predixion, delivers edge analytics in near real-time, allowing clients eliminate unplanned downtime. Reportedly, with RIOT, original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) can embed advanced analytics directly onto devices and machines with RIOT Nano, on the IoT gateway with RIOT One or delivered to the enterprise across all connected assets in the organization with RIOT Enterprise.

“The Predixion RIOT software is a natural addition to our product line because it’s designed for an end-to-end solution, scalable in the cloud, and optimized for embedded devices that sit on fixed-line or mobile networks. Integrating RIOT software into our AXON Platform will enable our customers to extract value from nearly 8 million households and 4 million mobile devices deployed with AXON software,” added Manniche.
