Datapipe, Microsoft to ease cloud adoption across Asia-Pacific

5 MIN READ

Datapipe, provider of managed hosting and cloud services for enterprises, has partnered with Microsoft to help businesses in Hong Kong and the Asia-Pacific region, take to the cloud platform more easily. With this collaboration, Datapipe’s managed services will be made available to enterprises on Microsoft’s cloud platforms including Microsoft Azure, Office 365, and hybrid cloud across Asia-Pacific.

Datapipe has been recognized by Microsoft as a Direct Partner in its Cloud Service Provider (CSP) Program in Hong Kong. This will make Datapipe one of only four Direct CSP Partners in Hong Kong. The company has helped Microsoft’s clients manage cloud migration, deployment and management to ease the process of cloud adoption since last year.

Colin Chan, Vice-President and General Manager, Datapipe, Asia says, “As Microsoft continues to invest heavily in its cloud platforms, we’re pleased to be a partner on that journey. Microsoft Azure and Office 365 are used by millions of businesses across the continent, and several thousands in Hong Kong.”

“Microsoft’s Private Cloud platform is great for organisations that want to adopt a more hybrid architecture and stricter compliance, security or configuration requirements. While any business can use Microsoft’s cloud platforms easily, they don’t always have the right skills to ensure best practise deployment, migration and management – that’s where Datapipe comes in. We know that every business has different cloud needs, which is why we offer a range of public, private, and hybrid cloud services tailored to each business, driving their cloud-led digital transformation.”

According to research firm IDC, the demand for cloud-based solutions from businesses in Hong Kong is set to drive IT spending on public cloud to over $685 million by 2017. This partnership aims to capitalize on Hong Kong’s booming cloud market as more businesses running on legacy IT systems look to adopt new cloud-based solutions.

The Azure Edge

In February 2015, Datapipe announced managed services support for the Azure public cloud. With this partnership, the hybrid IT solutions provider claims that businesses in Hong Kong deploying their services on the Microsoft Azure cloud platform will be able to use its services to manage its cloud environments.

“We think of a Cloud Solution Provider as an extension of our Microsoft team. It’s critical that our Cloud Solution Providers have high capability standards to manage the cloud lifecycle and provide a great customer experience. Datapipe meets and exceeds every eligibility requirement we look for in a provider,” says Flora Yu, Cloud and Enterprise Business Group Lead, Microsoft, Hong Kong.

“We’re excited to continue to grow our relationship with Datapipe in Hong Kong and offer local organizations the benefits of the Microsoft Cloud Platform. The Cloud Solution Provider program puts our partners at the center of the customer lifecycle with direct provisioning, billing and support of Microsoft cloud services. By joining the program, partners can create differentiated offers for our mutual customers, while helping them on their cloud journey,” he adds.
