Adobe brings paperless customer experiences to India

Document manager Adobe took to the ‘go paperless’ initiative on Thursday and introduced its new Document Cloud in India to transform tedious paper-based processes to digital workflows, thereby improving efficiency and productivity for users. “Businesses in India are looking at minimizing or eliminating the use of paper by streamlining frustrating paper-based processes to more agile digital workflows,” Umang Bedi, Adobe’s managing director for South Asia, told IANS.
“Powered by new integrations with Box, Microsoft OneDrive and the Adobe Marketing Cloud and innovations like Adobe Sign, Document Cloud holds significant potential for India in the years to come.”
The new facets of digital transformation have raised consumer expectations to immeasurable levels, causing every organization to rethink how they engage with their customers. According to a recent survey by IDC, 72 percent of businesses agreed that paperless methods would fetch them greater customer satisfaction. But the underlying fact is that yet 80 percent of those processes still rely on paper. Companies bidding high on great experiences are drifting away from the mired document processes that are slow and inefficient. The Indian government, like others across the world, is betting big on digitization to drive enhanced efficiencies and deliver an improved experience for citizens. One such initiative is the Government of India’s recent move to introduce e-KYC or Electronic Know Your Customer, through digital authentication using Aadhaar cards (India’s identification system for citizens). “With digitalization of workflows a key focus area and the fast emergence of smart cities, the Government of India has accelerated its digital transformation agenda and is looking at driving nation-wide impact through use of technology,” Bedi pointed out. This is the first integration between Adobe Sign, formerly called Document Cloud eSign services and Adobe Marketing Cloud, which aims to eliminate the cumbersome manual efforts, paper-based process for enrollment, on-boarding and servicing across the customer journey. Adobe Sign provides its customers with mobile app experience allowing them to electronically sign and send documents from any device. It works with Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) Forms – a key part of Adobe Marketing Cloud, helping organizations take the digital path.
“Adobe Document Cloud offers a robust and compelling proposition for government organizations looking to transform their end-user experience through digitization,” Bedi noted.
According to the company, more than six billion digital and electronic signature transactions are processed through Document Cloud each year, including businesses like Mindtree in India and The Royal Bank of Scotland. The company has till now introduced Document Cloud integrations with Box, Microsoft OneDrive, Apttus, Dropbox , Salesforce and Workday among others. And building on widespread adoption, Adobe is rolling out new data centers in EU, Asia Pacific and Japan in 2016.
