Transport payments and information solutions provider, Cubic Transportation Systems (CTS), has launched NextTraffic, a cloud-enabled transportation and traffic management tool.
CTS uses Microsoft Azure Cloud for NextTraffic, which can deliver real-time traffic data for all freeways, highways and city road networks. The data can subsequently be shared by transport companies to fleet drivers and other customers (like travelers in buses and taxis).
Toni Townes-Whitley, corporate vice president, worldwide public sector for Microsoft, said:
“Smart city transportation solutions have the potential to improve traffic patterns, reduce congestion, contribute to economic growth and revolutionize city planning, all while improving the quality of transportation around the city.”
Meanwhile, speaking on the collaboration with Microsoft Azure, Boris Karsch, Vice President – Strategy, CTS, said, “This strategic relationship will be beneficial for both companies as we build on CTS’ expertise in payment and information systems for public transportation and traffic management and Microsoft’s world-leading enterprise solutions.”
