Real-time location system for workplaces, Lighthouse.io has raised $1.25 million in seed round led by Tamarisc, an early stage venture capital firm. Other investors include Morningside Technology Ventures and Storm Industries Investments.
The Australian startup, that uses IoT, Bluetooth, beacons and sensors to find, interact with, and optimize workers and assets across industries — Cleaning, Security, Health and Mining — will use the funds to accelerate product development and growth in the US market.
Considering that Tamarisc largely invests in real estate, Lighthouse.io would be exploring opportunities for itself in the real estate sector as well. According to Australian Anthill, future features for Lighthouse.io “include a flexible If-This-Then-Than (IFTTT) rules engine that will be able to detect changes from sensors and other web services and then trigger outputs to relevant workers, integration with existing systems such as time and attendance and work order management, and advanced analytics capability.”
Launched in 2014, Lighthouse.io forayed into the US market in 2015.
