Content.ly: Metalogix's new SaaS offering

Metalogix that offers unified management software to migrate, manage and secure content across enterprise collaboration platforms has launched a new Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) offering, Content.ly. This new offering will allow enterprises to take control of their content across collaboration platform Microsoft Office 365, Slack, Salesforce, Box, Dropbox and Google for Work. The company claims that Content.ly is a unified way to keep dispersed collaboration, storage and files in synchronized manner. It provides a comprehensive set of cloud apps to manage the lifecycle of content stored and shared across these platforms. The content in every organization is moving constantly between users, platforms and devices. No one organization will standardize on a single ECM (Enterprise Content Management), collaboration, or file sync and share platform. As a result content will always be in motion. Content.ly claims to deliver a single point of control to monitor and manage disparate cloud collaboration platforms. Trevor Hellebuyck, Chief Technology Officer, Metalogix said:
“Across the average enterprise, content is constantly in motion between users, platforms and devices — rarely with any level of standardization on a single ECM, collaboration, or file sync and share platform,”. Content.ly is a SaaS offering that enables businesses, specifically IT organizations, to regain control of these platforms and ensure they have the same management, monitoring and governance over the entire collaboration ecosystem that they have deployed across their on-premise platforms.”
Content.ly has a simple cloud interface for any-to-any migration in the cloud, content replication and synchronization and platform provisioning. The users can move content from any file share into platform of their choice. The content can be classified and the cloud services can be managed or monitored on usage. The platform gives the liberty to quickly scan the entire extended collaboration environments from a single interface. The user can find sensitive content wherever it lives, then decide where it should go, easily move it, provision users and manage and report on it’s usage.

Content.ly offers:

  • Migration and synchronization
  • Data protection, back-up and content restoration
  • Sensitive content security with context-aware identification, filtering and classification
  • Permission control, auditing and reporting
  • Suspicious user activity detection
  • Data Loss Prevention
  • Archiving and retention
Content.ly will enable Metalogix’s partners with a suite of cloud services that accelerate the development and creation of customized offerings. With its wide variety of connectors, this will expand a partners’ reach into other platform ecosystems. Recently, Metalogix announced that Ben Levitan has joined the company as Chief Executive Officer (CEO). Metalogix also announced that John Duvall has joined the company as Chief Financial Officer (CFO). The company also launched a tool, Content Matrix 8.1, for Microsoft SharePoint and Office 365 migration and management, and claims to be the first solution to support Microsoft’s Online Provider Migration Containers for minimizing migration configurations. Ben Levitan, stated, “This is a natural extension of our core business. For the last 15 years we have been on this amazing journey with our 20,000 customers; really from the start of the enterprise collaboration journey. Throughout that journey we’ve developed a leading position in delivering solutions that manage and protect SharePoint and Office 365 content; now, these environments sit at the heart of a much more complex collaboration ecosystem, an ecosystem that needs managing and protecting in just the same way.”
