Sellf: The CRM that plugs into Slack

Sellfapp, the mobile CRM is now available as a fully featured CRM and sales tracking application on the Slack App Directory. Slack encourages other applications to add their integrations in the form of BOTs, as it was built as an open platform for work.

How does it work?

The CRM app has introduced a ‘Sellf BOT’, which constantly monitors the business/ sales team member’s account. If the member closes a deal or bags an account, the Sellf account will post a message in the company’s Slack team account for rewards and recognition. As Slack becomes the center of businesses’ internal communications, a simple post about the success of team members from Sellf to Slack can push to reach sales goals, by closing more deals and allow instant gratification that team members garner.

What is the Slack App directory?

Like a Play Store or an App Store, Slack launched the App Directory as a marketplace, couple of months back. Here, Slack users can add various apps to their channels pulling in essential information or adding useful features to their team. For example apps like Dropbox, Trello, Twitter and Skype can be added to make the Slack space an open platform that can give users access to the apps directly. Sellf claims that CRM should not be used as a passive business tool but should create conversations, engagement and collaboration within the team. According to Diego Pizzocaro, Co-Founder and CEO, Sellf, people are under the misconception that CRM is only a monitoring tool imposed by the company. He states that Sellf was designed to put the sales goal in priority, both at a personal and at a team level, motivating small businesses and professionals to be more productive and to run the extra mile to achieve their objectives.

Why the Slack integration?

Pizzocaro says that Sellf looks at Slack as an incredibly important new platform for small and medium businesses. “By making our app available through the Slack marketplace, we deliver the best sales and business assistant you can get for your organization. Team leaders via Slack can easily chat with members, getting and giving information so sales productivity continues to improve,” he adds. He also connects motivation with results, hinting that there is a huge potential in reaching sales goals if the team is motivated. With the integration, one can share goals and progress which will bring in a healthy competition and improve the chances for each member of the team to do better and at the end better contribute to the company success and benefit their individual career and success.
