4 MIN READ

Nice People at Work (NPAW), a provider of business intelligence and SaaS solutions that enable broadcasters, OTT and media distributors to drive business performance, has formed a strategic partnership with castLabs that offers software and cloud services for digital video markets worldwide. With this partnership, NPAW will integrate its analytics solution YOUBORA with castLab’s technology in order to reduce streaming lag and buffering times, among other disturbances adversely affecting audience video experiences.

Analytics solution?

YOUBORA is a business intelligence solution for broadcasters, over-the-top (OTTs), telcos and media companies that support better business decisions and drives experience improvements. The ability to harness data across various platforms and services used in the video delivery stack will become increasingly important to support technical, operations and business departments inside business, which can be applied towards trouble-shooting and vendor oversight to improving marketing efforts, driving engagement and improving loyalty. NPAW claims that this solution provides an end-to-end view of digital content delivery eco-system and allows to make data-driven decisions to ensure a good service and experience for customers.

NPAW CEO Ferran Gutiérrez of the NPAW-castLabs partnership said, “CastLabs is shaking up the player market, just like NPAW is making waves in analytics. This partnership guarantees our commitment to keep up with vanguard technologies like castLabs’ HTLM5 player and mobile platform SDKs. YOUBORA working with the innovative players offered by castLabs as one entity is good news for audiences interesting in having two leading technologies working together for their benefit.”

CastLabs specializes in mobile and browser playback technology, multi-DRM licensing, as well as encryption and packaging. Teaming up with NAPW and merging YOUBORA Analytics with its players will help castLab’s clients to monitor and report negative playback phenomena in real time, to ensure audiences have an online video experience equal in quality to what they would otherwise receive from conventional television.

Michael Stattmann, Managing Director of castLabs stated, “With NPAW as an integration partner, we’re able to provide a new layer of rich playback components across our cross-browser DASH Everywhere player as well as our Video Player SDKs for Android and iOS devices. The collaboration with NPAW means streaming services using our player technology can now simply ‘switch on’ powerful analytics and Quality of Experience features.”
