Huawei targets $10bn from enterprise business by 2019

Chinese ICT major, Huawei, is expecting its enterprise division to take up its revenues to $10 billion by 2019, up from $3.14 billion in 2014.

Yan Lida, President, Enterprise Business Group, Huawei, made the prediction, speaking at the recently concluded Huawei Cloud Congress 2015 (HCC 2015), in Shanghai. The enterprise division, which was formed in early 2011, currently contributes about seven per cent to the total revenues of $46.5 billion (in 2014) of Huawei, which has other two divisions — consumer and networking.

Lida also noted that the Enterprise Business Group generated revenue of nearly $1.8 billion in the first half of this year, climbing 48 percent compared to the same period last year.

“Today, Huawei is in a position to provide complete integrated ICT cloud structures as a solution. There are a lot of players. Even when we reach our target, we will still not be number one, so our target of $10 billion by 2019 is still not very aggressive,” Lida noted.

Huawei has made significant progress in supporting the cloud transformation of carriers over the past few months. In June, it was selected by German company, Deutsch Telecom, as the partner to support the carrier’s cloud strategy development. In August, Huawei signed a strategic cooperation agreement with China Telecom to help enhance its cloud computing and big data capabilities.

Huawei also signed a global alliance agreement with New Jersey headquarterd data and information management company, Commvault, to work together on research serviceability of cloud environments in data center (DC) backup solutions.

Huawei believes it can achieve business growth in the enterprise market by forming strategic collaborations with established companies, such as DT and Commvault.

Huawei unveiled three key software platforms at the HCC 2015, including FusionSphere, FusionInsight, and FusionStage. Tailor-made for enterprises and operators, FusionSphere is an enterprise-class cloud operating system, which helps customers deploy virtual servers, private clouds, public clouds, hybrid clouds, desktop clouds, and NFVI, enabling key services on cloud and facilitating continuous production innovation.

“As a leading global ICT infrastructure provider, Huawei has adhered to its strategy of Business-driven ICT Infrastructure (BDII) to innovate and collaborate openly with industry partners and customers,” Lida said, adding, “We have gained valuable practices in industries such as the government, public facilities, finance, telecom, and media & entertainment (M&E). We aim to accelerate the adoption of industry clouds, helping customers significantly increase efficiency and rapidly innovate services.”
