Gutierrez will lead the company’s growing data science team which is pioneering the ability to use time-sensitive data to predict in-market buyers for 6sense customers.
Chris has previously held positions at Airbnb, LinkedIn, Google, Expedia and other start-ups as a hands-on data scientist, manager of data science teams, or data science advisor.
“We couldn’t be more excited to have Chris join the 6sense team. We are thrilled that he’s leading the data science team and finding the most optimal way to put the power of predictive intelligence in the hands of our customers,” said 6sense CEO and founder, Amanda Kahlow.
“His skills and experience will bring to market first-of-its-kind capabilities that will completely change the predictive vendor landscape.”
At Airbnb, Chris developed the first near real-time risk scoring platform which permitted rapid fraud detection – a process which used to take days for engineers and data scientists to run. He also managed the data science team that developed the first-ever intent metrics at Airbnb which distinguished between bots (beyond the simple crawlers), curious surfers and users with intent. At LinkedIn, he contributed to the advertising platform with the development of a site simulator to help optimize LinkedIn ad traffic and bidding, and he achieved a dramatic improvement in direct ad revenue by reducing time to test ad campaigns.
Gutierrez said, “What drew me to 6sense, besides the top-notch team, was how well the founders understood our customers’ needs and how those relate to the data we need to source and connect. Another huge draw is that 6sense is one big analytics engine. Airbnb and LinkedIn are great companies, and the work I did there helped to support valuable products, but at 6sense, analytics IS the product. That’s a lot of fun for a data scientist.”
