HP DaaS for Indian enterprises; pay one price per seat per month

Tech major, HP, has launched a new Device-as-a-Service (DaaS) program targeted at Indian enterprises.

With HP DaaS, enterprises can use their devices (read HP commercial desktop, notebook PCs, and tablets) like a utility by paying one price per seat on a monthly basis over three or four-year period.

This means that, unlike a typical leasing agreement where device acquisition, set-up and maintenance are covered under separate contracts, under DaaS, enterprises manage just one contract during the entire device lifecycle. In turn, HP provides customized services and support, which includes device configuration and software installation, onsite break-fix and data migration along with the ability to upgrade to the latest HP devices for subsequent contract periods, which can range from three to four years.

Businesses have an added benefit of predictable annual costs. HP DaaS also covers secure and responsible disposal of devices, a final phase in the PC life-cycle that is often overlooked and risk the leak of sensitive information. The service, which is also available in Australia and Singapore, will be extended to other countries in the coming months.

“Indian businesses are innovating to serve a vibrant, diverse workforce and are transforming to become more competitive nationally and globally. HP offers services and solutions that grow with enterprises and organizations, enabling them to leapfrog whole technologies, connect across geographies in India and even global markets,” said Rajiv Srivastava, Managing Director, HP, India.

“As the final touch-point to their customer and employee, the right device is just the start. It’s about how you manage that device, ensuring flexibility, integrating the right application and keeping it secure till it’s replaced.”

HP DaaS was first implemented in India with the country’s largest car manufacturer, Maruti Suzuki, with a focus on empowering its sales force with tablets that come with interactive content and serve as an on-ramp for customer information.

HP’s DaaS program is available in Australia and Singapore, too the company hopes to extend it to some other countries in the coming months.
