Salesforce said on its blog, “With these new APIs, you can seamlessly connect your favorite Salesforce apps to Sheets and Slides for increased ease of use and real-time collaboration.”
Salesforce and Google have earlier partnered to integrate Salesforce CRM with Google Apps for Gmail, Drive and Calendar.
The new integrations between Salesforce and the Slides and Sheets APIs, data and reports, according to the blog post, “will flow seamlessly between these solutions so you always have access to Salesforce data directly within the Google apps you use every day.”
SalesforceIQ CRM, a solution specifically targeted at SMBs, will now be able to push reports and insights directly into Slides, allowing users to create “data-enriched presentations.” However, SalesforceIQ for Slides and Salesforce for Sheets will only be available in the second half of 2016. The latter can be connected using the Sheets Lightning Component from Salesforce Labs.
So what’s available immediately? SaleforceIQ for Sheets. Besides Salesforce, other teams according to Google, teams at Anaplan, Asana, Sage, and SAP too are “already building interesting integrations with the new Sheets API.”
As for the Slides API, Conga, ProsperWorks, and Trello are all building integrations with it.
