Torsten Müller-Ötvös, Chief Executive Officer, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars said, “Today, Rolls-Royce, the world’s leading luxury brand, has defined the future of luxury mobility. The Grand Arrival of the Rolls-Royce Vision Next 100 boldly points to a bright future for our marque where our patrons’ individual demands for complete and authentic personalisation will be met through an exquisite fusion of technology, design and hallmark Rolls-Royce craftsmanship.”
Dubbed as 103EX, the luxury car was presented in an event at London’s Roundhouse last week, with its body lines pulling in quite some traction. But what rests inside marks a bigger innovation, making this machine completely autonomous doing away with drivers- bringing a new Siri rival known as Eleanor in their place.
Named after the famous Spirit of Ecstasy that stands atop the Rolls-Royce, Eleanor is designed to manoeuvre the car using “her own artificial intelligence.” The famous flying lady mascot which graces the prow of the British luxury automaker’s vehicles turned 100 this year.
Rolls-Royce said, “Digitally connected to every aspect of her owners’ lives and her surrounding environment, Eleanor becomes their virtual assistant and chauffeur, freeing them of all effort and encumbrance.”
According to the press statement, the virtual assistant can work “intuitively to advise her owners on itineraries, schedules and options before they leave their residence, reminding about appointments and tasks and making suggestions to ease any anticipated impediments.”
Giles Taylor, Director of Design, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars said, “With the Rolls-Royce Vision Next 100 we were mindful not to dwell on the past. We wanted to be as innovative as possible and at the same time transcend the design history of the marque”.
Rolls-Royce 103EX is expected to hit the markets somewhere around 2040s. Although the company has not revealed exactly how the car is powered, it is claiming zero-emissions from its new concept vehicle. The company has also announced a Vision 360 CGI to promote a better experience of the Vision 360 CGI on YouTube 360.
