NaviSite, Azure to help enterprises accelerate cloud transformation

4 MIN READ

NaviSite, an international provider of enterprise-class, cloud-enabled hosting, managed applications and services announced today that it will provide managed multi-cloud services with the addition of the Microsoft Azure cloud platform to its cloud portfolio.

The company claims that NaviSite-managed Azure would help enterprise clients accelerate, plan, migrate, and manage their move to the cloud, addressing the transformative needs of their business. Furthermore, NaviSite aims to further its clients’ business goals by providing them with a single partner to optimize their entire cloud stack.

“Multi-cloud and hybrid cloud environments come with complexity, however they also offer a more cost-effective and flexible environment and additional competitive benefits when compared to traditional singlecloud deployments,” said Sumeet Sabharwal, General Manager, NaviSite.

By providing the ability to deploy and manage both bare-metal and cloud workloads in both NaviSite and Azure datacenters, NaviSite is able to fulfill customer IT requirements based on business need, not technical limitations.

NaviSite has joined hands with OSHEAN, a US-based company catering advanced IP-based networking and innovative cloud solutions, to pilot the new Managed Azure service for a number of applications including a video management service and a business continuity and backup application. The Azure offering from NaviSite supports OSHEAN’s belief in providing choice to its membership for cloud application payloads.

“We’ve been working with NaviSite for over three years to offer network-optimized managed cloud services for our members (Higher Ed, Health Care, K-12 and State and Local governments) and we welcome the addition of the Microsoft Azure Cloud to their suite of high quality managed services,” said David Marble, CEO, OSHEAN.

NaviSite manages Azure cloud networking components and virtual machines (VMs) via optimized tools and processes for monitoring, troubleshooting, incident and change management, patching, security support, and virtual connectivity.

Additionally, NaviSite’s Network Operation Center (NOC) claims to manage all Azure support calls, issues and escalations providing round-the-clock support relieving the IT staff. In this way, the cloud service provider states that it provides real-time monitoring and management and a highly scalable, stable Microsoft Azure cloud environment.

“NaviSite is a natural fit to provide managed cloud services on Azure with their capabilities to manage hybrid environments, incorporating Microsoft infrastructure into hosted private clouds and integrating with Azure’s public cloud environments,” said Aziz Benmalek, Vice-President, Worldwide Cloud and Hosting Services, Microsoft.

“By continuing our longstanding relationship with NaviSite, we’re able to help customers with their infrastructure management and give customers the ability to scale their business in a consistent hybrid-cloud environment,” Benmalek added.
