The deal will also give push to Mirantis’ recent move of collaborating with Google and Intel to evolve the architecture of purpose-built lifecycle management tool for OpenStack, Fuel, and related OpenStack projects, to enable the use of Kubernetes as their underlying orchestration engine. Both the cpmpanies will address and resolve the glitches related to upgrades which is considered as one of the key burdens of on-premise infrastructure. According to a report in Business Insider, Mirantis has spent around $30 million to buy TCP Cloud.

Mk.20, commonly referred to as managing infrastructure-as-code (process of managing and provisioning computing infrastructure), delivers Private Cloud solution focused on customer requirements that is built on OpenStack and Kubernetes platform. This comprises of analyzing current IT infrastructure solution, creating new IT design, combining OpenStack with legacy system and finally implementation of agreed solution. Thus, Mk.20 offers implementation, continuous delivery, consulting, support, training and expert services.

With this acquisition, Mirantis will blend its implementation service, that implement OpenStack private cloud to enterprises with Mk.20 which will eventually become part of Mirantis’ Fuel software for deploying and managing OpenStack and related open source infrastructure software.
Mirantis claims itself as the top contributor to OpenStack open source project, with the most committers, core contributors, and lines of code contributed to the most recent release, Mitaka OpenStack Mitaka, the 13th release of the widely deployed open source software for building clouds, now offers greater manageability and scalability as well as an enhanced end-user experience.
