StorageCraft acquires cloud-based backup solutions provider Gillware

StorageCraft that focuses on providing backup, disaster recovery, system migration and data protection solutions has acquired Gillware Online Backup that offers secure, cloud-based backup solutions for individuals and small businesses. With this acquisition StorageCraft will be aiming to expand its existing cloud, recovery and backup platform. The Gillware team of data experts will continue to operate out of its office in Madison, Wisconsin. The terms of the deals were not disclosed.

The compnay claims that this acquisition is the latest in a series of moves that is rapidly enhancing its suite of intelligent data protection solutions, increasing its global presence and strengthening its research and development team. The solutions offered by the company ranges from backup, management, replication, virtual, cloud and recovery.

Matt Medeiros, Chairman and CEO of StorageCraft said, “For far too long, the storage industry has promoted a one-dimensional approach of simply adding more capacity. Organizations are finally realizing that this model is obsolete since a significant portion of their costs is wasted backing up and storing irrelevant data.”

The acquisition will be active immediately and StorageCraft’s partners will have complete access to the products via Gillware portal. According to the terms of deal, all the products will be available globally via StorageCraft’s partner portal in November. Gillware will aid StorageCraft to fuel its expansion plans and with this it will be able to add thousands of customers in North America alone who are already familiar with the benefits of the combined solution.
