Under the partnership, Alibaba Cloud customers can leverage Datapipe’s capabilities to plan, build and run their cloud environments to ensure fast, secure, and compliant global expansion strategies. Datapipe will provide migration, management, and security of solutions for computing, storage, database, CDN, and big data.
For the record, Datapipe is also MSP to AWS, Office 365, and its own hosted private cloud — Stratosphere. It also is Platinum Level channel partner for Equinix, a partnership, which goes back 15 years. In August, earlier this years, Datapipe acquired Adapt, a UK-based MSP, allowing the company to enhance its capabilities in Europe.
Commenting on the partnership with Alibaba, Colin Chan, Vice President of Asia, Datapipe, said, “As a pioneer in managed cloud services, the addition of Alibaba Cloud to Datapipe’s supported platforms and service capabilities was a natural step. We look forward to working closely with Alibaba Cloud to help drive the global adoption of best practice enterprise cloud solutions.”
China-based Joyful Journey Travel is Datapipe’s first managed Alibaba Cloud client and is the first company to provide financial services to travelers in China. Joyful Journey Travel was looking to deploy a completely elastic infrastructure for their services to allow them to quickly and easily grow into new regions as they onboard more customers. Their biggest concern was security, specifically how to ensure their platform was robust enough to secure customer and financial data – a key criteria for any financial services organization.
According to Datapipe, its team worked with Joyful Journey Travel to develop a solution based on the cloud’s services including Elastic Compute Service instances, AsparaDB for Relationship Database Systems and Alibaba’s Cloud based CDN.
“Datapipe understood our requirements from the very start. We knew we wanted to move into the cloud but we didn’t know how to develop and launch a best-practice cloud environment. Datapipe designed a solution on Alibaba Cloud and then migrated and began managing our cloud solution,” said Huang Gangwei, CEO, Joyful Journey Travel.
“We can now scale our operations effortlessly and our IT team is focused on building better products instead of maintaining and managing our systems,” Gangwei added.
