Avanade, a provider of innovative digital and cloud services, business solutions and design-led experiences has announced a new chapter in their strategic relationship with Citrix, focused on helping clients take a cloud first approach to build digital workplaces.

The companies will use key tools and assets from Avanade’s transformation and managed services business to seamlessly integrate Citrix desktop and application virtualization products with Microsoft Azure and Windows 10. It includes delivering secure, flexible and scalable virtualized desktops at speed.

“At Avanade we help our clients effectively implement digital solutions that improve productivity and collaboration. With this next step in our Citrix relationship, clients can be confident in taking a cloud first approach that integrates one of the best desktop virtualization environments available with a flexible and secure cloud environment, Microsoft Azure,” said Rich Stern, Executive for cloud services, Avanade.

Both the companies have worked together on some of the largest and innovative client desktop and application virtualization solutions in the past and they claim to continue making investments in tooling, training and capability development to provide a secure modern platform in the cloud and allow for increased mobile productivity and employee engagement.

“Citrix is focused on enabling customers to securely and effectively move to the cloud. Avanade provides customers with the ability to leverage Microsoft technologies to help optimize XenApp and XenDesktop on Microsoft Azure as well as enhance our Skype for Business and Windows 10 integration capabilities”, said Steve Blacklock, Vice President of Global Strategic Alliances, Citrix.

Avande, in addition to helping organizations implement Microsoft Office 365, combines the latest Skype for Business performance enhancements from Citrix for users of virtualized desktops to the cloud.
