6 Indian startups among 9 from SEA to join Google Launchpad Accelerator

Six Indian tech startups have been picked up by the Google Launchpad Accelerator program to be a part of its fourth batch. The program helps founders by supporting their startups through mentorship and equity-free support. The program is currently operating in select countries of Latin America, Asia, Africa and Europe.

According to the company, the participating startups get two weeks of all-expense-paid training at Google Headquarters at Silicon Valley; access to Google engineers, resources and mentors at the headquarters and back in their home country for six months; credits for Google products; as well as PR training and global media opportunities.

The class starts on the 17th of July, where peers from Africa and Europe will join startups from Asia and Latin America. Google claims that apart from expanding its reach in different countries, it will also be expanding its curriculum to help startups dive deeper into AI and machine learning, leverage Google’s latest technologies in the field to scale their applications.

27 startups from Mexico, Chilie, Brazil, Argentina, Poland, Hungary, Czech Republic, Vietnam, Thailand, Philippines, Malaysia, Indonesia, South Africa, Nigeria and Kenya will be joining the six Indian startups which are:

EdGE Networks – which is an AI and Data Science driven HR Tech Startup that claims to help improve workforce availability, billing and allocation. It uses natural language processing for human resource management and helps companies woth talent acquisition and workforce management.

FastFilmz – is a movie application for South-Indian cinema. Users can stream Tamil, Telegu and Malayalam movies and premium members can download HD movies through the application. The app also has a feature where a premium member can share or swap movies offline with friends, without the use of data.

IndiaLends – is a financial technology application that gives users an array of financial products and credit management facility along with spend and EMI reminder feature. Users can apply for personal and home loans, credit card tracking and credit loans.

RailYatri – is an Indian railway information and booking app that claims to give end-to-end train travel information. Users of this application can get latest information on PNR status, train status, seat availability with conformation prediction. The app not only states to help book train tickets but food, hotels, and transit in and around railway stations.

RecipeBook – is a recipe listing application which claims to be powered by artificial intelligence to customize the recipes according to its user’s preferences and pallet choices. The application boasts of offline access and creating a community where a user can click images of recipes instead of writing them for the audience.

SigTuple – builds intelligent screening solutions to aid diagnosis through AI-powered analysis of visual medical data. It can be called an artificially intelligent pathologist, which uses computer vision and deep learning to study samples and activates dormant medical data to furnish a diagnosis.
