The announcement was made at the IFA (Internationale Funkausstellung), a consumer electronics and home appliance trade show, being hosted in Germany. Google states that it will be integrating its Assistant to a number of new speakers by the end of this year, including the Zolo Mojo by Anker, TicHome Mini by Mobvoi, Smart Speaker G3 by Onyko, GA10 by Panasonic and the LF-S50G by Sony.
According to the company, users will be able to ask questions, keep up with their schedule, control their smart homes, cast music and set multiple accounts to work from one speaker. Google states that all its Assistant’s core features such as speech recognition, natural language processing and the ability to answer contextual questions will be a part of the speakers. According to the availability of the devices, the speakers will be launched in the US, UK, Australia, Canada, Germany and France.
When it comes to appliances, the search giant claims that it is going to tie up with manufacturers like LG, allowing customers to be able control their appliances, including washers, dryers and vacuums from any device with the Google Assistant built in. Having associations with home automation manufacturers, including Honeywell, Netatmo, TP-Link and Wemo, Google is also going to integrate its virtual assistant to smart home devices. Customers will be able to dim the lights, switch on the AC, start the sprinkler or the oven just by saying Okay Google.
