Bata’s global sourcing infrastructure is hosted on Amazon Web Services (AWS), and relies on its cloud infrastructure for day-to-day operations including Point of Sale (PoS) system, warehousing, logistics, and purchase order processes.
According to an official communique, Datapipe was selected to assist Bata with developing and growing its presence in Asia by unlocking operational efficiencies. Bata claims that it is seeing strong growth in Asia’s multi-billion-dollar footwear market, specifically in India, China and Southeast Asia. It also says that APAC footwear market is projected to reach US$127.2 billion a year by 2020.

Datapipe adopted a two-phased approach to ensure an optimized environment. Datapipe first redesigned Bata’s existing cloud environment based on AWS best practices including platform based security configurations. The second phase will deploy network and instance-based security controls and services, ensuring secure connections to Bata’s e-commerce websites for users in the region.
