Google introduces Springboard, a search tool for enterprises

2 MIN READ

Focusing on the enterprise customers, Google has unveiled its new search tool, Springboard, that searches across all Google apps, like Gmail, Calendar, Docs, Drive and Contacts.

According to Prabhakar Raghavan, Vice President of Engineering, Google Apps, “It’s no secret that the growth of information inside the enterprise continues to accelerate. In fact, today the average knowledge worker spends the equivalent of one full day a week searching for and gathering information.”

Google Sites revamped

Google has also entirely revamped its ‘Sites’, which the company says is “convenient to build, clutter-free and functional” and is optimized for every screen.

The added benefits

  • A new intuitive drag-and-drop feature has been added to support real-time collaboration by multiple editors, and offers easy access to all the content from Calendar, Docs, Drive, and Maps.
  • The new Sites also includes themes and layouts designed to scale and flex to an onscreen size, be it a 30-inch monitor or a smartphone.

Google has been reviewing Google Springboard and the new Google Sites with a small set of customers, and is now looking to extend each of its new apps to more customers via an Early Adopter Program.
