CloudConnect launches wizard for deploying virtual desktops

3 MIN READ

Boston-based CloudConnect which provides Desktop-as-a-Service (DaaS) solution has introduced a Desktop Deployment Wizard. The Wizard acts as a service for installing virtual desktops in the cloud, served from the cloud. The utility allows reseller-partners to immediately deploy a Windows-based Desktop user group on CloudConnect infrastructure. The Wizard also channelizes hosted DaaS along with increased profitability and reduced service delivery time.

According to the company, Desktop Deployment Wizard is a next generation tool that allows administrators to deliver a comprehensive Windows-based Citrix desktop user group within minutes. The wizard provides desktop optimization, access local printers, scanners, and webcams directly from the CloudConnect Desktop. Customers are only required to run the wizard, name the desktop user group and add users via Active Directory. As and when the environment joins the domain, the system is ready for application installation and users to log on.

Douglas Sherwood, National Channel Manager of CloudConnect, said:

The turn-key capability of CloudConnect’s Desktop Deployment Wizard makes CloudConnect’s full suite of services immediately available to our channel partners and their clients. CloudConnect partners can now deploy a comprehensive Citrix DaaS environment within minutes.

CloudConnect claims that it is the only provider of a comprehensive turn-key DaaS solution as it delivers pay-as-you-go model to cloud, complex on-premise IT infrastructure and legacy applications. CloudConnect pairs the management capability of VMware’s vCloud Director with the feature-rich capability of Citrix XenApp. This results in an optimal integrated DaaS, Iaas, and Disaster Recovery solution for CloudConnect’s channel partners.

According to the company, the wizard works on the forefront of DaaS and IaaS to deliver secured, reliable and flexible hosted Desktop and Infrastructure services available. In addition to its Services Provider License Agreement (SPLA) partnership with Microsoft, its platform claims to allow installations of any third-party application, modifying infrastructure resources to nearly any business.
