Panasonic launches video management software for enterprises

Panasonic Australia that manufactures security systems, mobile equipment and electronic products has launched Video Insight Video Management Software (VMS) to enhance its enterprise-class video management security solutions. VMS has come post the Video Insight acquisition that happened in February, 2015, and aimed at broadening Panasonic’s security portfolio and offer combined monitoring services.

It brings together powerful surveillance technology, advanced features, unmatched flexibility, and an easy to use interface all in one single bundled system. Adding Video Insight to our existing line creates a complete single source offering for our customers, gives them the flexibility to choose the right solution for the right application, without worrying about compatibility issues, and protects their existing video surveillance and access control investments, ensuring a lower TCO.

According to Panasonic, that eyes to meet the demands of video surveillance customers and help with easy integration of multiples devices, the VMS platform is well-suited for surveillance in universities, healthcare, transport and logistics, and law enforcement, as well as other commercial applications.

It will help enterprises engage, with a single-management interface that includes an array of enhanced enterprise-level surveillance features, including Video Wall, Health Monitor, Automated Failover, Active Directory LDAP, Access Control Integration and Software Development Kit (SDK).

It also has a Guard Tour feature that ensures scheduled security checks for operators performed in time intervals and automated functions to reduce operators’ workload by the Rules function, claims the company.

Panasonic’s embedded surveillance solutions promises that Video Insight’s hardware optimization and cost efficiency will provide users with software based options to choose from, while they develop their security solutions architecture.

Reportedly, Video Insights allows users up to 300 cameras per server with an unlimited number of web clients and storage size. This potentially provides users with more possibilities in the surveillance workflow. It can be done on operating systems including Windows, Mac, Web browsers, iOS and Android.

It also boasts of over 3000 camera models from 100 manufacturers integrating with access control systems to use open platform solution and deliver a comprehensive experience.
