Pitney Bowes has recently launched a digital technology solution called SmartLink
to deliver advanced products and solutions to bolster e-commerce. Pitney Bowes is a provider of shipping, mailing, location intelligence, customer engagement and information management for e-commerce industry. The SmartLink solution connects postage meters to Pitney Bowes Commerce Cloud
and claims to channelize client experience and introduce a new range of services.
According to Pitney Bowes, its Commerce Cloud is the only cloud providing access to solutions, analytics, and APIs across the full commerce continuum. It assists clients to look for customers, opportunities, uplift communication, and manage shipping and payments, all with speed and agility in the physical and digital environments.

What is SmartLink and how does it work?
SmartLink is a device that enables the user to connect to mailstation and mailstation2 via models DM100i or DM200L to the Pitney Bowes Commerce Cloud through an internet connection. SmatLink technology, also claims to enable the user to access tools and solutions on the Pitney Bowes Commerce Cloud that helps to simplify mailing operations. The company states that the digital services streamline operations and enable clients to amend account preferences from a centralized location online. The meters that are connected to SmartLink receive low ink monitoring service and have the ability to automate the process of purchasing ink via the Pitney Bowes AutoInk
The SmartLink device leverages a secure Internet of Things (IoT) platform to enable a host of online tools and services, including automated postage rate updates, low postage alerts, AutoInk technology, usage tracking and analytics, error notifications and simple self-help tutorials, claiming to have a 24/7 online account management feature.
