UberHIRE: Now keep your cab for the entire day in these 9 Indian cities

Cab hailing app, Uber has launched UberHIRE in India, which allows travelers to hire the cab for an entire day. The service was piloted in Kochi and after its success in the city has been launched in eight other cities: Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Chennai, Mumbai, Nagpur, New Delhi, Pune and Visakhapatnam. UberHIRE is a time-based service and is “perfect for travelers exploring a new city, senior citizens who need to make trips punctuated with multiple stop overs, or for business travelers who have multiple meetings – while ensuring it is an economical option for everyone.” Festival shopping, family get-togethers, weddings are also the target events. The fare is calculated at the end of the trip, which factors in the distance covered and duration of the trip. Currently, UberHIRE works only on cash payments; and only the “best sedans with top-rated driver partners” are available. The minimum fare differs from city to city. For example, the minimum fare for Kochi is INR 500 (up to two hours or 30 kilometers; and for Mumbai, the minimum fare is Rs 600.
