Tableau appoints Felicia Hu as Communications Manager for APAC

After roping in former Amazon Web Services (AWS) executive Adam Selipsky as its new CEO, Washington-based data-visualization software provider Tableau has announced the appointment of Felicia Hu for the position of Communications Manager for Asia Pacific (APAC) region. Chairing the Managership from Tableau’s APAC headquarters and Singapore office, Hu will be responsible for media, public and analyst relations across Asia Pacific. Hu reportedly brings aboard a decade of regional experience in communications. According to Tableau, Hu has also built a strong foundation in communications program planning and execution, in handling media relations and social media campaigns.
“I am very much looking forward to being the Tableau communications strategist in this region, working to humanize data analytics and visualization and bringing to life Tableau’s vision of helping everyone see and understand their data,” said Hu.
Prior to Tableau, Hu has worked with WE Communications, where she handled key accounts and regional public relations programs across seven markets. She has also worked on influencer engagement programs including initiatives that requires driving development of social and digital content strategies. Hu has also been associated with varied consumer and healthcare brands where she worked in various capacities. She has also held the role of Healthcare Communications Lead at Singapore Medical Group Limited. Tableau that claims to help users ‘see and understand data’ packs products classified as Tableau Desktop that offers interactive data visualizations and dashboards that apparently works with hundreds of data sources; Tableau Server which aims at ensuring accessibility to data whether on-premise or in the cloud and can be integrated into existing data infrastructure; Tableau Online which essentially is a hosted version of Tableau Server. Additionally, earlier in July, Tableau had announced the launch of Tableau 10 with over 30 new capabilities, as an update to its existing lineup and to beef up its visual analysis offerings. With an arguably reconsidered design (interface), new analytical and mobile enhancements and options for preparing data to match enterprise standards.
